About the project
Completed in 2011, the 46 floor Heron Tower stands over 200 metres tall and offers impressive views across the city of London and further afield. The scope for this survey was to locate and detail all the mechanical, electrical and plumbing services (MEP) that ran above the suspended ceiling for our client to retrofit the space for the new tenants.
- Where possible, the ceiling tiles were removed allowing us to scan the MEP in the ceiling void using the extendable tripod.
- With a combination of ground level scans and extendable tripod scans, it was possible to capture almost all of the MEP even where the ceiling tiles remained.
- The registered point cloud was delivered and supplemented with 360° photography taken from each scan position to aid the modelling process.
