- Capturing buildings with a laser scanner allows you to bring the building back to the office and provides the basis for extremely accurate 2D floor plans, elevations and sections or 3D models.
- It allows you to interrogate the information in far more depth than with traditional techniques. This is especially relevant to older buildings which may not be particularly square.
- Quicker than traditional methods on site, scanning will also pick up extra detail such as the surrounding buildings and topography.
- It can also reduce the need for extra site visits to collect further detail as more often than not, the information required has already been scanned.
