Hazardous Environments

Hazardous Environments & Scanning

  • Due to the non-contact nature of scanning, hazardous environments such as railways, highways, quarries or fire damaged buildings can be surveyed from a distance at speed and with a greater degree of safety.
  • Using laser scanning on construction sites or infrastructure projects can really improve site safety by removing the need of the surveyor to be in potentially harmful areas. With good planning, the information required can usually be obtained from safe working areas.
  • Dangerous plant and machinery can be scanned from a distance avoiding shutdowns. If there is no other option but to shut down, scanning offers the peace of mind that the break will be short, and the required detail will be captured.
