About the project
A laser scan survey was required at this pumping station to create a 3D model to help inform the engineers who had been tasked with repairing several elements within the chamber. Due to the entrance restrictions and cramped conditions, it was necessary to plan out the repairs and fabricate the parts using the model to ensure the repairs went smoothly, avoiding costly down time.
- The aim of this survey was to confirm the chamber dimensions and internal pipework arrangement in order for the alterations to be carried out.
- The scans were controlled to the local site grid and registered. 360° photography was also delivered to aid the modelling process.
- Confined space trained personnel were needed due to the nature of the site.
