About the project
Scanning historic buildings is always one of our favourite things to do. The data collected at Selby Abbey, which was founded in 1069 was used for 3D visualisations of the Abbey itself and the surrounding area for a local regeneration project.
- The Abbey and wider area were scanned to produce a registered, colourised point cloud which formed the basis of a realistic 3D visualisation.
- Fully controlled and related to OS coordinates, the dataset can be used for 2D plans or 3D models as the project progresses.
