About the project
The iconic Oval Cricket Ground was the first ground in England to host international Test Cricket back in 1880. The ground has undergone many changes over the years, and we were pleased to be involved in another one. The scope for this project was to provide accurate plans to begin the process of redesigning the existing stand in order to increase the capacity of the ground.
- Elevations and sections of the stand were produced from the point cloud.
- Elevations of the neighbouring buildings were also provided to analyse the impact of the new structure on its surroundings.
- Scanning was carried out on the morning of a County Championship match so speed of data capture was crucial.
